Osbert de Montfort (Mountfort)
Dear All, Does anyone have any sourced material pertaining to this individual? He is listed as being the father of Katherine de Mountfort who married Richard fitz John Beaupre (fl K. Ed II) within the Beaupre of Norfolk pedigree. The family allegedly has ties to Wellington, Norfolk. The Montforts seem to be prolific in this area of the country around... more »

Norwegian nobility
Are there anyone on list who is considered very knowledgable about the Norwegian nobility before 1650, especially Rogaland County, Norway? I came across a site while doing the searches for my cousin whose Norwegian ancestry does not cross my Norwegian line, the information on the families after 1650 are easily proven independently without the need... more »

Eirene, the first wife of emperor Isaakios II (who has a lot of descendants in the wide west) what is known of the source-based possibilities of her antecedents? I have encountered two things: Tornikios or Palaiologos. Is there any more, based on any indication in near-contemporary sources? Tornikioi:... more »

'Georgian' Bagratid pre-modern descent to the wide west
as far as I have detected, there appears no attested descent from the Bagrationi of Kartvelia (as opposed to Bagratuni of Armenia) [i.e, not from Caucasia itself - not Abkhazia, not Kartli, not Kakheti...] to the 'wide west' The closest circumstantial case I have encountered, is the somewhat uncertain one of Maria of Ossetia - who has direct descendants since... more »
