A Repair Install will NOT help!

  Ok, running WinXP SP3. It&#39;s my Hotmail contacts that have been wiped - &lt;br&gt; I can manually put them back, however. I use AVG v9 (Free). Nothing &lt;br&gt; has come up on that. I don &#39;t have any other anti-spyware progs &lt;br&gt; running. Still running internet using a cable from router - wireless &lt;br&gt; not working on my PC but no problem on another laptop.

  the problem may be that &lt;br&gt; your o.s. on the hd is sp3 &lt;br&gt; but your cd is sp1 or sp2. &lt;br&gt; if so, then you would have &lt;br&gt; a problem repairing your &lt;br&gt; windows. &lt;br&gt; you will have to use the &lt;br&gt; slipstream method to &lt;br&gt; create a sp3 installation &lt;br&gt; cd in order execute a &lt;br&gt; repair.

  be absolutely sure that &lt;br&gt; you don&#39;t install windows &lt;br&gt; to your d drive where your &lt;br&gt; doc&#39;s are or they will be &lt;br&gt; overwritten. &lt;br&gt; also keep in mind that &lt;br&gt; there are three options &lt;br&gt; that the cd provides for &lt;br&gt; setting up windows. &lt;br&gt; first option is to install &lt;br&gt; windows in addition to &lt;br&gt; the one that is already &lt;br&gt; installed on the hd.
