Subject: GRUB Disk Error
Friends help needed

It seems My hard disk has some error.
After loading the DamnSmallLinux to hdd
it has installed the GRUB which is giving
this error :

GRUB Disk Error

and its not booting.

I could install LILO to start the PC under
linux environment. But my issue is
I also need the windows environment

My hda1 is windows98 (its Pentium mmx old PC)
I need it since it has the old COM1 port.

So is there a way to install GRUB.
Or
Is there a way to boot to Windows . ?

Dear Yagneshbhai,
u cn install grub with any fedora/ubuntu cd/dvd. Infact with any linux distro.
Boot with linux cd, select rescue mode. Then chroot 2 ur linux root,
usaly with fedora rescue its "chroot /mnt/sysimage". Then instal grub
with "grub /dev/hda". After that restart d system. U will b greeted
with grub. If u need more help feel free 2 call my new no

Its"grub-install /dev/hda".

What I fear is that the sector in which
GRUB is being writen is currpt.

I am out of station for a week so will try
your solution once I am back.
