Shall add a try reconnect method if ping response is not received from the
jabber server.
Hopefully that should fix this up.

Here is a behavior I observed today from a bot running latest CVS on a linux
fedora8 machine:
Bot had been running for a while (days). Then bot did the following:

What bot behavior should I be expecting once the IP address has been
recycled by the ISP?
Will the bot shutdown or reconnect to the chat server?

Can you checkout the latest from trunk and let me know if it works.
I remembered i checked in some code related to this a few week back.
Also a new version of Jaxl is coming up which will allow you to add
event handler hooks (just like wordpress plugin framework)

Dynamic IP & bot connection

Dear All
I have been using JAXLto run a bot on a server which IP address get recycled
by the ISP every day.
I was expecting the bot to die when the IP changes but instead it hangs on
while($jaxl->isConnected) {
$jaxl->getXML();
How can I make sure the bot finishes promptly?

I checkout gizmo, but unfortunately i can't do any verification for
that.
Reason being i don't have a gizmo account and it says new
registrations not allowed.

Interesting thing that you are looking for. I am not sure if it comes
under FSM, but yeah something similar is under development (no
guarantee on when will it be released).
Idea is to have a few command line options, e.g.
php jaxl.php command1 arg1 arg2 .....
and the bot will be able to do a lot more things.

I'd like to develop a vocabulary of command that is likely to end up
context specific (ie. "show" won't mean the same thing if you are in a

My understanding from your description is that you are trying to
connect Jaxl with browser interfaces. Right?
Well currently Jaxl implements XMPP protocol which runs at TCP/IP
level. For interfacing with browsers, Jaxl needs to support BOSH which
is still under development.

Lemme know if you meant something else.
