Importing SQL 2008 Databases to SQL 2005

I need to import our sql 2008 databases from our live server to our development server which is running SQL 2005.

The reason for running sql 2005 on our dev server is that we have Essbase 9.0 installed on this server aswell (for development)

and this is not compatible with sql 2005.

I have tried creating a script from sql 2008 and adding it to the sql 2005 but with no luck (link: http://www.devx.com/dbzone/Article/40531/0/page/2

as when trying to open the file on the dev server it gives the following error "The operation could not be completed. Not enough storage is available to process this command." and there is more than enough diskspace available.

This is all new to me as I don't have much sql experience so any assistance would be appreciated.
