Hi All, As i am coming out of my injury, i plan to ride from the Sarjapura-ORR jn to Jain Frams. The idea is go there swim a little and have breakfast .. and headback. The distance to-and-fro is 60Kms, and plan to be back by lunch.
So the details are :
Start point : Sarjapura ORR Jn Time : 6AM (Sharp) Distance : 60Kms Easy, and on road ride (Any kind of bike)

I've been to Jain farms several times before and feel this may be an
ideal place to practice for the upcoming duathlon. It's a very scenic
30K ride from the ORR/Sarjapur junction and is a 800 acres large farm
land. Within the enclave, there are mud roads leading to the various
farm plots (~10 kms). So, we can leave from the Sjr/ORR junction at
6:00 and reach Jain Farms by 7:30 and then run 10K from 7:30 till
8:30. The super athletes among us could even do a swim after the run,
while the rest of us could hit the restaurant for some nice breakfast.
We could then relax and take easy strolls around the farm after
breakfast and head back to town for lunch.
cheers!

I've got a couple of queries about the possible expenses for this
trip, so here goes -
* Jain farms charges 100/- entry fee to get into the enclave
* Typically breakfast would cost about 50-75/-
* Pool charges are 50/- per person per hour
However, since I'm a member there, I can get free entry for up to 10
people into the farm. Also, up to 10 people can get 50% off on all
other charges (pool/breakfast/badminton/snooker etc...). So, the total
damage on your wallet should be any where between 50/- (If you are
among the first 10 people :)) to 200/- max.
cheers!

Here is another option to ocnsider for the swim and lunch
http://www.ivyparkresort.com/index.htm rs 150 for entry and a-la-carte lunch or Rs 400 day-trip package which
includes resort access, buffet lunch and tea
This is in Carmellaram, so we can do the 60km ride and hit the pool
and lunch at the end of the ride.
Also, I am not a big fan of the food at Jain Farms, had a bad
experience last time around.

Anand's quite right. The lunch at Jain farms is not the best around
town. However, they do a decent breakfast. So, I guess the plan is -
* Cycle 30K to Jain Farms
* Run 10K within Jain Farms
* Have breakfast at Jain Farms
* If the pool is good at Jain Farms, swim there for some time
* Cycle back and have lunch at Ivy park or at La Casa near Wipro
Johny,
The route is very green and nice. Hope you decide to join us.

I'm in. (This saturday is a working day for me .. decided to use those
leave balance for good)
I can't swim though. If somebody is training for a lifeguard then I can
practice my drowning skills :)

I'll be there at 6am at Sarjapur ORR anyways..
What i was seeking to clarify is that hopefully this Jain Farms thing
does not have a restriction of number of people (and members / no
members) who can get in etc etc..

There's no restriction like that. Just that there's a 100/- entry fee
per person that has to be paid at the front gate. Look forward to
meeting you at the ORR junction at 6 tomorrow.
cheers!

Had great fun guys! We all met up at the ORR/SJR junction at sharp
6:20 :) and then set out to Jain farms. Ravi announced - "Whoever is
in the competing mood, can go ahead, I'm in the fun ride mood today"
and before any of us could respond, shot ahead and we saw him only at
the Jain farms front gate after that. We covered the distance of 30K
in 70 mins and reached the farm by 7:30 (Ravi who was not in the
competing mood must have reached by 7:00). We got inside the farm and
ran slightly less than 10K and were done with our duathlon practice by
9:00. After that we had some breakfast and indulged in some Table
tennis, snooker and swimming for another couple of hours and were all
done by 11:00. The little champ Sukhdev also joined us and did the
ride, the run and the swim rather comfortably. Most of us came away
from this trip with a collectible item, a Satyam business card that
Prasant handed us all (Thanks for that Prasanth). Most of our
discussion was rather light and desultory, except for a brief period
when Rama mentioned he worked for asklaila.com. Everyone then asked
him a lot of probing questions. With a name like that, you can't
really blame the folks. We are just a local search engine guys, he
said with a wink. At 11, the team split into 3 groups. One group set
out on the return journey at 11, another group at 11:30 and a few of
us stayed back for a couple more hours and then head back. All in all,
a very nice trip and I think we should do this trip often.
