Depending upon your speed anywhere between 3.5 to 6 hours
Its mostly downhill all the way to Harohalli. From there you go some
flatland initially towards Jigani and there are some steep climbs , 3 of
them sightly big or with a good inclination. From Jigani towards the city on
Bannerghatta road it is more or less even.

Yes, there were lot of riders and it was great fun!
Riders who took part are:
Anil
Sampath
Sagar
Prashanth
Murthy
Alex
Milind
Malik
Shiv
Manohar
If I have forgotten to mention any, please forgive!
Sad that two riders Srikar and (?) one more person had go return due
to some reason.
Murthy's road bikers gang ripped across the scenic trail. Beginners
Sampath, Sagar and Milind did very well. In fact Sampath was awesome
with his new hybrid bike. Initially he was very apprehensive if would
be able to climb the uphill part of the trail. But in the end he was
the one who was in the lead.
The trail HaroHalli to Jigani cut across beautiful country side and
was very scenic. We stopped few times for photographs amidst paddy
fields and forest. I guess Murthy's team did spot some wild elephant
herd as well!
All in all great fun! Thanks to all!
Im yet to upload the photos. Would update with the link once done.

It was a fantastic ride today. The Harohalli - Jigani stretch is
lovely. It's very scenic and offers plenty of scope for hill training as
well. There's a relentless stretch of uphill for a few kilometers in
between, and someone's set up a shop selling cold butter milk at the end of
that stretch, just perfect! We had some interesting company on the ride,
like Milind who likes to play football because that sport offered him an
opportunity to grab other men!! We all kept safe distance from him after
this confession ;) Jokes apart, this guy actually played football for the
U-17 national team. Then there was Manohar and Malik who both have a
treasure of information about rides in the western ghats, and when Manohar
is not riding/trekking, he's catching snakes! Manjula started before we did
and was a few kilometres ahead of us and she messaged saying there was a
herd of elephants where she was. We tried hard getting there as quickly as
we could, but we missed the elephants. But the thought that these handsome
beasts were a short distance away from us was an exciting feeling. Sampath's
just started biking recently, but was a kick ass rider today! Great job
dude!! At the end of the ride, Sagar mentioned that his heart was beating a
bit faster than normal. We looked around but didn't find any object that
could have possible triggered such a symptom. So, it must have been fatigue.
He rested a while, guzzling tender coconut and he was feeling fine after a
bit. He carried on biking to his home in Vijayanagar. Hope he's doing
alright now. Thanks for the fun company guys. Look forward to riding with
y'all soon.

Hello Folks, this was my first 100k ride in many weeks. Had a real nasty
time going uphill on my way to Jigani. After my experience riding up-hill
from Harohalli to Jigani, I have decided to buy a MTB for my TFN (Come on
Yogesh, make up your freaking mind!).
Rekha and group, I hope you reached Kagalipura without issues. The
Bannerghatta-Kaggalipura road turned out to be unpaved, I hope you folks
made it home without any issues. I was cruising on my way back. I even
managed to convince./beg my way into being allowed on NICE road, so I could
reach home fast.
Thanks for raising me off my slumber guys. God knows, I needed it,
Yogesh.
Shahid. I am glad to hear you folks made it without much issues. I was very
concerned about you as I was biking down to Kaggalipura. I had to be home by
1pm, so kept pushing ahead since I knew you folks were together.

I was more in to cycling than photography, hence, pardon me if the pics aren't that eye catching !
@ Anil - Thanks for the concern man ! I was back to normal when I got back on the saddle again. Good that I made up to continue the ride. But again thanks for offering help :)

There's a relentless stretch of uphill for a few kilometers in between, and someone's set up a shop selling cold butter milk at the end of that stretch, just perfect! We had some interesting company on the ride, like Milind who likes to play football because that sport offered him an opportunity to grab other men!! We all kept safe distance from him after this confession ;) Jokes apart, this guy actually played football for the U-17 national team. Then there was Manohar and Malik who both have a treasure of information about rides in the western ghats, and when Manohar is not riding/trekking, he's catching snakes! Manjula started before we did and was a few kilometres ahead of us and she messaged saying there was a herd of elephants where she was. We tried hard getting there as quickly as we could, but
we missed the elephants. But the thought that these handsome beasts were a short distance away from us was an exciting feeling. Sampath's just started biking recently, but was a kick ass rider today! Great job dude!! At the end of the ride, Sagar mentioned that his heart was beating a bit faster than normal. We looked around but didn't find any object that could have possible triggered such a symptom. So, it must have been fatigue. He rested a while, guzzling tender coconut and he was feeling fine after a bit. He carried on biking to his home in Vijayanagar. Hope he's doing alright now. Thanks for the fun company guys. Look forward to riding with y'all soon.
Cheers! -Anil

Thanks Yogesh. The Bannergatta-Kaggalipura road which we took (the straight
one) is not good for the road bikes, many patches of bad roads and under
construction - MTB is fine. However we (Rekha, Jaggi, Anke and me), made it
fine.
Yes, it was a good ride. Manish can post the pictures.

great ride on 22nd ... despite my rather nasty fall ealry in the
ride . the climbs really made us all work. Anke and I heard an
elphant close by, waited paitently ( also used it to catch much needed
breath ).. didnt see anything
and great idli vada stop..! someone was taking photgraphs on 22nd
too... do upload..
next time -MTBs on the bannergatta-kaggalipura stretch. not worth it
on road bikes
