Hi everyone, This is Shiva,.. its really exciting to hear a lot of astronomy stuff goin on here in bangalore..well this is my 1st post in here.. :).I'd be greatful if anyone can help me wid telescope making....I mean,,if anyone can suggest me the place where i can get a telescope primary mirror or perhaps a mirror making kit,where i can grind my own mirror n all the stuff needed fr telescope making,..I'm not really a newbie to telescope making really,,like i've made a 6 inch Newtonian reflector,(shorter focal length of the primary made the telescope dwarf tho...!) and a 4 inch refractor....and an achromatic 40mm refractor as well..... These ones gave me a good experience fr the first time at telescope making....but my thirst fr making bigger n better ones are still unquenched...my next plan is to build an 8inch Dobsonian after i finish my pre-university exms...lol.... Any helpin this regard is appreciated..... :)

Wow! That's a lot of telescopes you've made. The Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers has a lot of experienced telescope makers and you should probably meet them on a Sunday evening at the Bangalore Planetarium basement.

HI Akarsh, NIce to hear frm you, I had heard about the telescope making classes goin on in the planetarium basement before tho.....I guess the person is Mr.Subramanyan...:)...bt was real unconfident on how to approach them.... Do they gather at the place on every sundays....?? or on specified dates..??
