Problems installing SPARC Debian on Sun Ultra 1

OK, time to ask for help here. I have a Sun Ultra 1 200E with 500mb memory, and an 18 gb disk that had Solaris 9 installed. I downloaded and burned the netinst CD, and have booted the U1 from it. Getting rid of opendns

I edited /etc/resolv.conf to get rid of the opendns servers. I edited the "prepend domain-name-servers" line in /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf to reflect the new servers. I edited wicd to do the same. I ran Recoll to see if the opendns servers were in any file on the system and came up with a blank. The router is hard-wired to the IP's dns, and it... more »

reboot fails

Hi, After a powerfailure in the house, I restarted my home debian server. Unfortunately, that failed. The boot process stops right after this: /init: .:line 53: can't open /scripts/functions [ 1.397803] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attend to kill init! So, what do I need to do? Rgrds, Olivier

Radeon HD 5570 on linux?

Has anyone tried a Radeon HD 5570 on linux? I'm having trouble finding out any info regarding linux support along with opencl support. Does anyone know anything regarding how this card handles? Thanks in advance, Rui Maciel

Starting vino server at bootup

I've been trying to get the vino server to start at bootup, so I don't have to log on locally before I can vnc into the machine.
